Today I love: The Vegetable Diva
What: The Vegetable Diva is small scale vegetarian, packaging free takeaway, which provides a small menu of home cooked, nutritious and good value takeaway food. Their menu is seasonal and changes dependent on the produce that is available on their “No Dig Diva Plot”.
You can pop and collect food in one of your own containers or rent one of theirs. They also do a pedal powered catering and delivery service, which caters for parties, business meetings and other events. They even have a small no waste shop, which sells grains, pulses and their own home grown vegetables.
Their unit is based on the Bristol Harbourside, occupying a retail unit above Broken Dock and is open Monday-Friday 9am – 7pm.
Where: Unit 1 East, Building 4 Invicta, Millennium Promenade Bristol, BS1 5SY – https://goo.gl/maps/MLJ2pDxfm4syUJLz8
Why: Now, I am not going to pretend to be a vegetarian and would very much struggle with the idea of becoming vegan, even though my moral compass is pushing me towards at least exploring the thought, but who doesn’t love the opportunity to eat takeaway that is good for you!
On my quick lunchtime visit, I had the chance to try the wrap, which was wholesome, flavourful and packed to the brim with vegetable goodness – but that Cauliflower salad… that was a real revelation – it is sweet, nutty and super moreish. I could have literally eaten my body weight and still wanted more.
Not one to miss an opportunity, I had an oat milk flat white and a piece of polenta cake. Both were on point and super yummy. I left knowing that I would be back and bringing friends!
How Much: Very reasonable priced – food was all around £5 per plate.
